Archiver 3 0 94

Darius Keeler and Danny Griffiths formed Archive in 1994 together with female singer Roya Arab and young rapper Rosko John. Due to some dispute among themselves, the band broke up in 1996. Later (1999), Darius and Danny reformed Archive along with Susanne Wooder and Matheu Martin to produce their second album 'Take My Head'.

The Supreme Court will hear oral arguments days after the presidential election regarding the Affordable Care Act's validity. Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg's passing adds new uncertainty to the ACA's fate. 
The ACA Rollercoaster 
The individual mandate — the most controversial part of the ACA — requires all Americans to purchase health insurance or pay a $700 tax penalty. The Supreme Court ruled this tax penalty constitutional in 2012. However, Congress set this tax penalty to zero in 2017, essentially eliminating the tax. So, if there's no tax, is the individual mandate, and thus the ACA, unconstitutional? Several federal courts have ruled on this question and, now, the Supreme Court will. 
Present Day
Justice Ginsburg's death leaves an open seat on the Supreme Court. If this seat is filled before the ACA hearing, nine justices will determine the ACA's fate. If the seat is not filled and there's a 4-4 tie, then two possibilities remain. The Justices could reschedule or delay the hearing until there's a full court. Alternatively, the case could be sent back to the lower court to decide if the individual mandate can be removed from the ACA without invalidating the entire law.
Lastly, even with eight Justices, there may be a majority vote. Chief Justice Roberts historically supports the ACA and Justice Kavanaugh has a track record that may indicate that he'd also uphold the ACA. 
What's at Stake
If the individual mandate can be cut from the ACA, then nothing will change. However, if the entire ACA must go, millions of Americans may lose their health insurance. Additionally, the 54 million Americans who have pre-existing conditions are currently protected by the ACA — without the ACA, these individuals can be denied insurance.

The possibility of striking down the ACA during a global pandemic heightens anxiety about an already uncertain future.
Telehealth poses many benefits in the pandemic era and has seen an increase in use, but cyberattacks pose a risk to patient data. 
Background
Health care organizations have long been targets of hackers. Patient health records provide comprehensive profiles, making them attractive to those looking to commit fraud or identity theft. 
The healthcare industry lags behindin cybersecurity strength due to insufficient regulations and outdated software. Only 23% of healthcare organizations have fully deployed security automation tools. According to the IBM Security Report, data breaches are very expensive, costing a system and its patients over $7 million on average in 2020, a 10% increase from 2019.
Recent Impacts
Concern about cybersecurity attacks has been high since the start of the pandemic. In March, the Department of Health and Human Services' computer system was hacked, followed closely by a ransomware attack on the Champaign-Urbana Public Health Department in Illinois.
A recent report indicates a 30% increase in cybersecurity attacks, with a large increase in phishing attempts as well as application and network security issues. There has also been an increase in mentions of healthcare and telehealth companies across the dark web since February. Additionally, the significant need for telehealth and virtual communications has led to a decrease in enforcement and penalties for HIPAA violations, further putting patients' health information at risk.

China's IPV rate has tripled, while France reported a 30% increase and Brazil estimated a 40-50% increase in IPV rates. In the U.S., Portland reported a 22% increase in arrests due to domestic violence and New York City reported a 10% increase in domestic violence-related calls. 
On the Basis of Sex
Whethersevere maternal morbidity and perinatal deaths are due to Covid-19 remains controversial; however, 68% of these women presented fevers, 59% presented with low white blood cell counts and 91% delivered by C-section. As for abortion access, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Oklahoma have categorized both medical and surgical abortions as 'nonessential' procedures. These orders restricted access to abortion for thousands of women. Stay-at-home orders have also disrupted access to contraception as well as pre and post-natal checks, which can be vital for women's health.
